Founded in 1851 by two brothers in Rhode Island, USA, Fruit of the Loom opened its first mill and began producing quality cotton cloth and textiles. The company is one of the world’s oldest trademarks, even older than for example Coca-Cola.
With more than 160 years experience in manufacturing textiles they have grown to become one of the world’s leading clothing brands.
Over 30 years ago they were one of the first to enter the European imprint sector. Today Fruit of the Loom still enjoys a long-standing reputation as a leader in the quality promotional, workwear and leisurewear garments.
In 2002 Fruit of the Loom was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway Group, chaired by Warren Buffett. More recently, the company acquired the Russell Corporation, which includes a number of famous global brands such as Russell Athletic, Spalding and Brooks.
